St. Peter's, Maxey

Raised above the surrounding fields, just outside the village of Maxey, sits St. Peter's Church. Worshippers have gathered on this site since the time of the Saxons. The church in which we currently worship, was built in 1113; an impressive building, both in scale and detail.

St. Peter's church houses an interesting selection of artefacts from the churchyard and surrounding areas, put together in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, by the Revd WD Sweeting.

Alongside historical artefacts sit displays of artwork from the local children, who attend Sunday School at Maxey Village hall. St. Peter's brings together all ages at its services and has a great deal to choose from. From traditional Eucharist services to its family worship, the congregation will be ready to welcome you, whenever you choose to attend!
